Consultations
Consultations are by appointment six days a week, and evenings on weekdays. We treat most small animals including dogs and cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, mice and reptiles. Emergencies will be seen with priority. Consultations are available from 8am.
Each consultation is carried out in one of our large fully equipped consulting rooms and attended by both an experienced veterinarian and a veterinary nurse. The veterinarian will carry out a thorough clinical examination and the nurse will be able to assist you in holding and comforting your pet. Should any further diagnostic tests be required, for example, blood testing or radiology, these can be performed in house and often on the same day. If treatment is required we will outline all of the current treatment options and work with you to tailor an individual and specific treatment plan.
We believe in preventative health care and know the importance of an annual physical examination. These should be undertaken not only to perform regular vaccinations and parasite control to avoid preventable disease, but also to detect any emerging health problems that even the most experienced of pet owners may have overlooked. All annual health checks begin with a full clinical examination of your pet to detect any possible issues and encompass many aspects including dentistry, dermatology and cardiology. STANDARD APPOINTMENT booked for 15 minutes to allow us to address routine procedures and straight forward concerns. If a standard consultation runs over the allocated booking time, an additional fee for the Veterinarian’s time will be charged in 15 minute increments at $45. The Veterinarian will be mindful of this time and remind the client when this time approaches. |

EXTENDED APPOINTMENT booked for 30 minutes to allow you to discuss a more complex matter with your Veterinarian, or if you have multiple concerns, please request an extended appointment.
Clients who attend with long lists of queries should expect to have these resolved over several appointments, so we do not keep other clients waiting.
New clients with a medical history unknown to us should book an extended (30 minute) appointment.
REVISIT APPOINTMENT booked for either 15 minutes or 30 minutes to recheck the progress of a current issue
If your prefer to request a particular vet we will endeavour to maintain your continuity of care.
